Reflection #2

23 April

I have begun my proposal of a book to Mrs. Churchill, and the summary of my project's goal is as follows:

To write a novella which will provide an insight into a normal teenage girl's life, its changes and her dealing with depression, as well as showing how both she and her family helped her.
The story will not only display how she dealt with it, but also the causes, social and individual effects and possible outcomes of depression if not treated. The book will aim to make the reader more aware of depression and how it can be caused and eventually end. In general, it will target a teenage audience and relate to social, familial and educational pressure that an average teenager deals with.

Even though the story will be fictional, and set in an abstract, parallel world, the reader will be able to relate to the issues and pressures that the girl experiences. The story will be first-person, and this writing technique will allow the reader an insight into the girl's emotions and thoughts throughout her experiences.

Thanks,

Kayla
