Introduction

Hey, my name's Kayla and my WISE project is focussing on depression and its effects and possible outcomes.

I'm planning on designing a website containing facts, statistics and advice to spread awareness to a broader audience. I haven't as yet decided on a name for the website, so any suggestions are welcome.

This website is going to be set up for the sole purpose of discussing the facts about depression, how it is caused, its effects and how it is treated. It will also offer advice for sufferers and their carers/friends and family.

To a more targeted audience, the website will explain to students (high school students especially) about how increased stress levels as you move up grades can lead to depression. It will provide methods for counteracting this, as well as the warning signs for those who are depressed around you and who to talk to.

Reflection #1

Today I'm starting to doubt my previous object of creating a website. First of all, it will create a huge problem of time management including creating the website, adding pages of facts and notices for depression, etc. Second of all, it will be exceptionally difficult to raise notice in the global community for the website.

So right now I'm starting to think writing a story will be more beneficial and time-effective as it only requires planning, research and writing and will encompass my love of writing and a personal perspective on depression if I write it in first-person.
